Adolescent Athletic Director

Job Summary

The Adolescent Athletic Director (AAD) has an important job – not only is the AAD responsible for the physical well-being of students, the AAD also plays a vital role in students educational prowess. Directors should be well rounded in classroom management and Victory program procedures. In addition to helping students develop athletically, they are also responsible for helping the student to develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

AAD’s need to be patient and authoritative, empathic, and regimented. The best AAD’s are natural managers who lead by example. They are physically fit, talented, and highly motivated with a can-do disposition that prompts students to participate and perform above their own expectation levels.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meet with Victory colleagues, school leaders, nurses, and counselors to coordinate lessons and improve students’ fitness and health goals.
  • Hold one-on-one conferences with students and parents/guardians to keep them engaged in Victory activities and on track to meet their individual athletic, social, emotional, and academic goals.
  • Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress, remedial issues, behavior problems, and help students achieve their individual goals.
  • Develop a variety of special programs and classes (e.g. group and teamwork, leadership, bullying, etc.) for providing information to assist students in the successful transition socially, emotionally, and academically.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree- preferably in physical education, kinesiology, or physiology
  • State issued teaching certificate or license preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • Able to explain complex procedures in simple terms.
  • Well-versed in athletic programming procedures.
  • Prepared to enthusiastically coach a wide range of athletic activities.
  • Education oriented, with a strong sense of fair play and inclination against favoritism.
  • Able to teach and coach diverse students with varied athletic interests and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
 

Attendance & Punctuality

Attendance is an essential job function. This position requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends, if necessary, overtime hours when required.

 

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to lift moderately heavy objects up to 25lbs. and perform duties requiring extensive maneuverability and normal strength.

Must also be prepared to run, jump, and participate in physical activity.

 

Equipment

Duties will require the regular use of telephones, computers, fax machines and calculators. Must have access to a personal vehicle and hold a valid state driver’s license and insurance.

Assistant Program Coordinator (After School)

Job Summary

Assist the Lead Program Coordinator in developing, coordinating, and providing training activities for school-age programs. Provide support and assistance to staff. Monitor school-age programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and development of the afterschool program sites throughout Victory Kid Sports.
  • Assist in the communication of quality school-age program standards to Victory Management Team, site coordinators, and personnel.
  • Assist in developing program activities and curriculum materials that support the school and site operations.
  • Assist in communicating appropriate behavior standards, develop discipline plans, and assist with ADA accommodations.
  • Assist with meeting with sites to assist with family and volunteer involvement.
  • Support and involve appropriate community and enrichment activities.
  • Assist in developing Victory after school programs and policies regarding quality programs, monitoring, and assessment tools.
  • Assist in meeting regularly with program site coordinators to facilitate the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for school-age childcare.
  • Assist in creating staff development and training activities for school-age program personnel on a regular basis.
  • Assist in monitoring school-age program sites relative to quality assurance.
  • Assist in traveling to other sites as required.
  • Assist in performing other incidental tasks or services consistent with the job goal of this position.
  • Assist in providing outstanding customer service and utilize positive interpersonal communication skills.
 

Qualifications

  • Associates degree from an accredited educational institution in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.  Consideration will be given to candidates who have some coursework in education or early childhood.
  • Must have previously worked in a school or childcare program, required.
  • Valid Florida Driver License.
  • Demonstrated coordination and leadership skills.
  • Skilled at applying sensitivity in working with target populations.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality child care standards and staff development.
  • Ability to articulate quality childcare standards involving program activities, safety, health, and nutrition.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data from a variety of sources to evaluate and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, community agencies, and organizations.
  • Ability to apply self-discipline and initiative.
  • Ability to follow all federal, state, and district guidelines.

  • Preference may be given to candidate holding CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification or Vocational Child Care Training degree.

Cheerleading Coach

Job Summary

The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for coaching student athletes in techniques to prepare them for events or competition. This position involves helping student- athletes develop an appreciation for the sport.

Bus Driver

Job Summary

To safely and efficiently transport students to and from their school site and or special events.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Comply with all state and local traffic laws, and school board policies and procedures relative to the safe operation of a 31-passenger bus or any other vehicle.
  • Inspect the bus to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition before leaving on a route or trip.
  • Assume the responsibility for the safety of his/her passengers including loading and unloading.
  • Instruct students in safety precautions and practices.
  • Maintain appropriate student discipline and report unruly behavior to the school principal.
  • Sweep and keep the bus clean at all times.
  • Make recommendations to improve bus routes, stops, and loading/unloading zones at schools.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communication skills.
 

Qualifications

  • Valid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Five (5) years of licensed driving experience.
  • Good knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations and precautions necessary to avoid accidents.
  • Ability to operate light and/or a heavy-duty bus (31-passenger) in a safe and economical way; understand and carry out instructions.
